First Aid for Child Carers is a 12-hour training course especially for people who care for children in any setting.
It is suitable for all school staff, childminders, nursery and pre-school workers, sport and leisure staff, crèche leaders, parents and any one who is responsible for the welfare of infants and children.
This is an interactive course where course participants learn the skills of emergency care of infants and children in a low stress, friendly and positive environment.
This course satisfies OFSTED standards and also HSE recommendations for Appointed Persons.

- Coping with an Emergency in the Childcare Environment
- The Priorities of Treatment
- Resuscitation: Adult, Child, Infant
- Unconsciousness: Adult, Child, Infant
- Control of bleeding and treatment of minor and major injuries.
- Treatment of Burns and Scalds
- Poisoning
- Treatment of Fractures, with emphasis on children & infants
- Choking: Adult, Child, Infant
- General Paediatric Medical conditions : Asthma, Anaphylaxis, Diabetes, Epilepsy, Meningitis and other childhood Illnesses
